"You have a large tree that you lament is useless. Why not plant it in the vast wilderness, in the land of nowhere, and let it roam in the field of non-action? Then you can stroll around it or lie down peacefully beneath it."
Tianlai Child suddenly grasped the profound life mystery hidden within the concept of "the wayside earth." He became acutely aware that the awakening energy of the "wayside earth" was stirring within every cell of his being. As he delved deeper into his practice of mind fasting and self-forgetting, he transcended time and space, finding himself in the boundless wilderness of the land of nowhere, face-to-face with Zhuangzi.
They exchanged a silent smile, their hearts instantly in sync, resonating without the need for words—a meeting of kindred spirits.
Tianlai Child marveled at Zhuangzi’s spirit. Zhuangzi had famously said he would rather be a turtle rolling in mud than a sacred turtle killed and enshrined in the hall of a temple for divination.
