Using the True Heart of the One True Dharma Realm to Transform the Illusory Energy Flow of the Deluded Minds in the Ten Dharma Realms

The One True Dharma Realm (一真法界) represents the ultimate truth, transcending all dualities and distinctions, while the Ten Dharma Realms (十法界) embody the multiplicity of illusionary perceptions arising from delusion and attachment. Transforming the deluded energies of the Ten Dharma Realms into the true energy of the One True Dharma Realm requires a spiritual process that works through the dimensions of mind, heart, and soul. This process involves the purification and transformation of consciousness through the application of various yogic practices.

1. The Energy Flow of the True Heart of the One True Dharma Realm (一真法界的真心的觉悟能量流)

The true heart of the One True Dharma Realm is the ultimate awakening, the realization of our inherent Buddha-nature and the understanding that all phenomena are projections of the mind. This energy flow is the awakening of the true nature of the self (弥陀) and the mind that perceives the Pure Land (唯心净土), all within the context of the ultimate oneness.

  • Self-Nature Amitabha (自性弥陀) represents the inherent Buddha-nature that is present in all beings.
  • Pure Land of the Mind (唯心净土) refers to the realization that the Pure Land exists within the mind of the practitioner, and is not a separate, external realm.
This energy flow is one of liberation and realization, where the individual recognizes the true nature of reality beyond delusions and attachments.

2. The Energy Flow of the Illusionary Minds of the Ten Dharma Realms (妄心的十法界的幻觉能量流)

The Ten Dharma Realms are realms of illusion and delusion, arising due to the afflictions and attachments of the mind. These realms are the product of the mental constructs and projections that arise from our perceptions of the world. The illusionary energy flow of these realms is governed by the law of dependent origination (缘起), where all phenomena arise in relation to conditions and causes, and are subject to change and transformation.

  • The energy flow of the deluded minds (妄心) arises from the six coarse realms, which correspond to the six primary senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and thought). The six coarse realms are the distorted perceptions that arise from the mind’s attachment to these senses.
  • The energy flow of the ten realms is shaped by the consciousness transformation (唯识所变), where the mind experiences these illusions and projections based on its attachment to the sensory world.

3. The Energy Flow of the Practice of Transforming Consciousness into Wisdom (心斋念佛法的转识成智的能量流)

The practice of transforming consciousness into wisdom, often referred to as turning the deluded mind into enlightened wisdom, is central to Buddhist practice. This transformation is achieved by working through different levels of consciousness and refining them through specific yogic practices.

3.1 The Energy Flow of Transformation in the Sixth and Seventh Consciousness (六七因中转的能量流)

  • Through the dimension of mind (pure reason; Sunyata Wisdom) (理性维度) and Jnana Yoga (智瑜伽), the sixth consciousness (manas, or the discriminating mind) is transformed into the wisdom of subtle observation (妙观察智), allowing one to see the true nature of phenomena and their interdependence.
  • Through the dimension of heart (practical reason; unconditional love) (感性维度) and Bhakti Yoga (爱瑜伽), the seventh consciousness (the afflicted consciousness, or 末那识) is transformed into the wisdom of equality (平等性智), where one transcends personal attachment and sees all beings as equal in their potential for awakening.

3.2 The Energy Flow of Transformation in the Fifth and Eighth Consciousness (五八果上圆的能量流)

  • Through the dimension of body (behaviors; action) (身体维度) and Karma Yoga (业瑜伽), the five sensory organs (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body) are transformed into the wisdom of accomplishment (成所作智), where each sensory experience becomes a tool for enlightenment, free from attachment.
  • Through the dimension of soul (conscience; free will) (心灵维度) and Raja Yoga (王瑜伽), the eighth consciousness (Alaya consciousness or 阿赖耶识) is transformed into the wisdom of the great mirror (大圆镜智), where all experiences are reflected perfectly without distortion, leading to the realization of the true nature of the mind and the interconnectedness of all phenomena.

Summary

Through the application of various yogic practices—Jnana Yoga (mind; wisdom), Bhakti Yoga (heart; love), Karma Yoga (body; behaviors), and Raja Yoga (soul; courage)—the deluded minds and the illusionary energies of the Ten Dharma Realms can be transformed into the true energy of the One True Dharma Realm. By working through different dimensions of consciousness and refining them into wisdom, practitioners can transcend the illusions of duality and realize the oneness of all things, returning to their inherent Buddha-nature and the Pure Land within. This process of transformation leads to the ultimate liberation from delusion and the awakening of the true self.
