Heavenly Child’s Insights into the Dharma

  1. Misunderstanding the Dharma: False Buddhists mistakenly believe that the Dharma addresses only the so-called "great matter of birth and death." True disciples of the Buddha deeply understand that this "great matter" is merely a trivial issue rooted in delusion and attachment. Letting go resolves it entirely!

  2. The Real Focus of the Buddha’s Compassion: True disciples recognize that Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are great sovereigns and healers of life. Their "medicine" is not intended for "birth" and "death" but for alleviating aging and illness.

  3. The Vow of True Disciples: After completely letting go of delusions and attachments regarding the "great matter of birth and death," and thereby realizing the wisdom and virtues of the Tathagata, true disciples aspire to follow the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

    • They return by vow to become great sovereigns and healers for all beings, addressing aging and illness to help sentient beings achieve a state of "non-aging" and "non-illness."
  4. The Path to Non-Aging and Non-Illness:

    • How to avoid aging? One must understand and practice holistic self-care to nurture life.
    • How to avoid illness? Fundamentally, one should maintain life practices that prevent sickness and treat latent imbalances. If illness does arise, entrusting the body to medical treatment is crucial, but the key lies in cultivating a positive and optimistic attitude toward life.
      • Avoid dwelling on the illness itself.
      • Align one’s thoughts and focus with the state of "great health"—a vibrant and harmonious life force.

Reflection:
Buddhism's ultimate teaching is not merely an escape from "birth and death" but a profound healing of the human condition, beginning with our attachments and extending to the practical realities of aging and illness. This insight connects spiritual liberation with practical wisdom, urging humanity to embrace a life of mindfulness, balance, and compassion, thereby transforming suffering into boundless vitality and joy.
