Prose Poem, “The Maze”
—The Heavenly Child Reflects Within
Consciousness, oh consciousness, a maze it seems to be,
Walls upon walls, twisting paths without end.
I thought I was lost within it,
But truly, it was my outward search for answers that left me astray.
“Who is pulling the strings?”
Ah, Jung smiles without a word,
Then points to the sky—
“It is the invisible hand of the collective unconscious.”
Thank you, Jung,
I finally understand:
Myths are not spoken by gods,
Nor are they spoken to gods.
They are spoken by me,
And, most importantly, spoken to me!
So I stopped wandering,
And stopped searching outside.
I turned around and reached out my hand,
Grabbing hold of that invisible hand—
“Come down! Stop hiding in the heavens!”
The hand of the collective unconscious, pulled down,
Revealed itself from the void.
And then I saw—
It was me all along,
A projection of my outward seeking,
And a guide toward my inner awakening.
Standing in the center of the maze,
The truth became clear:
The maze is not confusing; it is we who become lost,
By seeking answers outside our own hearts.
The path lies not without, but within.
