“Qian”
Tianlai contemplates within,
The Qian Hexagram, 111111 = 63,
The energy flows, pure strength and motion,
The way of Heaven, unceasing and self-renewing.
First Nine: Hidden dragon, do not act (1).
The dragon lies hidden in the depths,
Nurturing its strength,
Awaiting the right moment, unseen yet present.
Second Nine: The dragon appears in the field (1).
The dragon emerges in the fields,
Its form begins to reveal itself,
Harmonizing with the Earth, light first shines.
Third Nine: A cautious dragon, as if in peril (1).
The dragon grows wary, sensing danger,
Vigilance tempers its might,
To remain steady is the path of wisdom.
Fourth Nine: The dragon leaps from the abyss (1).
The dragon leaps freely from the depths,
Balanced between action and stillness,
In motion lies opportunity.
Fifth Nine: The flying dragon in the heavens (1).
The dragon soars high in the sky,
Commanding the vast expanse,
Aligned with Heaven’s timing, unstoppable.
Top Nine: The overreaching dragon has regrets (1).
The dragon rises too high, overreaching its limits,
Regret follows excess,
For what peaks must descend.
The Use of Nine: A multitude of dragons without a leader, auspicious (63 = Ultimate).
A gathering of dragons, unified without a head,
Each aligned with the Dao,
Their collective harmony brings great fortune.
The highest ideal, the balance of Heaven and Earth.
The Mystery of “Qian”: External “Gan,” Internal “Yi.”
The outer Gan, symbolizing the Zhuque (Vermilion Bird),
Its light radiates in all directions,
Illuminating the four corners,
Representing the Southern fire energy of clarity and virtue.
The inner Yi, symbolizing the Jueyin Wind Wood,
The energy of spring,
Wood giving rise to the breeze,
The wind moves across the land, awakening vitality.
Yi Wood nourishes Gan Fire,
The wind strengthens the flame,
Endlessly creating and transforming.
The way of Qian extends beyond the heavens,
Encompassing vast perspectives and boundless realms.
Qian embodies self-conquest and strength,
Steadfast as Heaven itself.
To remain unceasing is to transcend;
To be strong is to strengthen oneself.
Like the dragon, hidden before action,
And measured in movement,
It balances between stillness and motion,
Reaching the ultimate state of harmony.
